View Full Version : Reducing Cab Noise

Ever since I have had my 825i I have had a very loud squeaking noise in the cab. It sounded like it was coming from the seat area but the seat fits tight and no other things seemed loose or out of place. I noticed that the bed when shook made the same noise and that it did not latch down tight against the frame. I tilted the bed up and took it for a drive, I immediatley noticed the noise went away and had a quiet cab. My first fix was to add another thickness of rubber material to the existing rubber pads on the bed. It helped some but the bed still did not latch tight so I adjusted the catch mounted on the frame down a bit and now the bed latches down tight. There isn't much adjustment available and it took a couple of tries to get it just right. While making the adjustments I also noticed the plastic splash shield between the cab and bed was hitting on the back of the bed and bed latch. I marked where it was rubbing with a pencil and sanded off enough material to leave a small gap. Took it for another test drive and all the noise is gone.

Picked up my 825i CAMO loaded with the electric dump bed. Squeaks like hell where the rubber meets the frame. is their a fix?

Mine made noise, I put a little grease on the rubber pads. I think it is actually that plastic panel behind the seats doing it.

What's interesting is when i lift the bed just a hair the noise stops.

The plastic panel is the problem. I can see where mine is rubbing the finish off the front of my bed. Still trying to study the situation to come up with the best solution to the problem. The noise drives me crazy but I hate to alter the panel by cutting or sanding it. Thought about glueing a thin piece of rubber to the top of it but I just think that it will rub a hole in it and start squeaking again.

I am having the same problem and we put an old bicycle tube where the plastic and metal meet and it solves the problem, working on a more permanent fix though.

Go to your Deere dealer and tell the service manager about the problem and they will turn in a case to JD about it. If enough cases are turned in about this problem they will issue a product improvement program for a fix. If no one says anything then Deere doesn't Have a clue about it.

It is the plastic behind the seat rubbing the bed. Just spray some silicone on it and it stops it instantly. I don't know how long it lasts but if it starts again I will give it another shot. Also the screws on the top are rubber washered. Mine were squeaking I loosened them sprayed them with silicone and and re-tightened them and it is all cured. Oh yes, you can just wipe off the excess silicone and the dust won't collect.
