I am new to this forum. Ordered an 825i, waiting delivery. I tried to order the Warn flood lights bur found out they were discontinued this month. I was given this response.

Effective 06 April 2011 , BM22602 Warn flood light kit is no longer available for Gator HPX, XUV, and M-Gator A2 Utililty Vehicles, as we are in the process of transitioning to a new halogen light system. Consequently, the current BM22645 deluxe outdoorsman package for HPX and XUV Utility Vehicles is no longer available, as it contains BM22602 Warn flood light kit. A new series of packages will be created in the near future, and information on those packages will be provided in a separate announcement.

Does anyone have any info on the new lights?

Very Nice number3shot: Looks better than factory in my opinion!!! Are the orange/ amber looking deals next to the headlights actual turn/hazard or just the decal/ reflector?? They sure are bright though!

They are just orange, self adhesive reflectors that fit perfectly in that space.
Thought it looked better than the white hole from the factory.

number3shot, thanks for your input. I looked at that site. the prices are good. It looks like for $119, you get the W350 Fog lights, 3 1/2 in diameter? They look larger than that. I am looking for driving lights, but the W650D lights are 6 1/2 inches. That seems a bit large, for $179. The 4 Wheel parts site has the Warn W650D Halogen Driving Light kit - 82420 for $170, the gowarn.com site has them for $170.99.

Do your Fog lights throw much light? I assume you also have Driving or flood lights.

Yes, they are 3 1/2 inches and put out good light. I actually saw them in the Cabellas store but found them here, www.sidestreetauto.com, cheaper.
No tax and free shipping.

We use the wireless remotes when we go camping. It's nice when we hear something outside the tent or cabin to be able to light up the outside area and draw whatever or whoever's attention away from us, our tent or cabin for a few seconds while we try and determine what we heard & whats going on outside. When there is more than one of us with remote lighting, we plan how we park our vehicles (quads, gators, trucks) for the night to make the most effective use of our lights.

do you leave your key on all night? unless you hard wired it to the battery.

YES, any light sets that come with wireless remotes we wire directly to the battery. On my jeep & truck they are wired to one of those boxes that automatically shut them down before they can drain the battery, so if they were turned on or left on by accident, they can't drain the battery to the point of not starting the car. On the quad they are just wired directly to the battery. I am waiting for my new gator any day now and will probably install another one of those devices that won't let me kill the battery and wire some lights and accessories to that.

ahh..I see. I wired mine to a keyed on power source.

I actually started with the idea by accident, a set of warn lights for one of the jeeps came with the wireless remote and it made it easier to install than trying to get the wires thru the water tight firewall on the jeep to install a switch on the dash. Then while camping out in Utah a friend who was new at camping, she brought the remote into the tent. When she heard something outside the tent she used the remote to turn on the jeep lights. Since then I have always wired at least one set to the battery, or now to the box attached to the battery to prevent me from draining the battery.

That is a good idea. Especially for camping.

whats this box you talk about?

I am not an engineer so I am not sure how it works exactly, and I guess it's more of a device than a box, but it costs about $85.00 and gets connected to the battery, if there is a certain amount of drain on the battery when the engine is not running, it automatically shuts everything off saving enough power to start the vehicle. I first encountered them when we were installing them in our city vehicles to prevent the batteries from going dead because people left the 2 way radios, or other accessories on when they were parked, usually at the end of a shift at headquarters, and if the vehicle was not utilized the following shift, the battery would be dead when someone went to utilize the vehicle.

I guess there are several brands, if you do a google search for "Battery drain protector" several different brands come up.

Hope this helps & explains what I was talking about. I am going to look into putting one on my Gator when I get it and start adding electrical accessories such as lights, radio & communications equipment.

Battery savers are available starting at $22. Amazon has a unit that plugs into a cigarette lighter, made by Koolatron. It can be wired directly. I use one for the food/drink cooler in my truck. If I forget to shut it off when I leave the truck in the summer, it shuts down the cooler before it starts to drain the battery too far.

CaptDan

@ Zephyr74 yes sir I did my 35 years, now I am recovering :-)

@CCGator the unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter only controls the one device. The unit that attaches to the battery controls any load when the vehicle is shut off, if it drains the battery down to a certain level, it shuts everything off until the starter had been activated. I guess there are numerous such devices, each one of us just has to decide what particular device suits our particular needs.

Do you have pics of the rocker switch that comes with these lights from Amazon/cabelas. Curious to see how it looks installed?

If you go to warn's site they have a pic of what it comes with. It is a button type like the key fob for a car. You can attach it anywhere with the supplied velcroe backing.

825joe,
the lights you posted seem bigger than 3.5", they looks more like the larger 6" lamps.

Is this just photo distortion? I am thinking of ordering them but need to be sure which size they are.

The Warn F350 is a 3 1/2 inch light. I have the same ones as Joe. I used his recommendation.
