4x2 gator kawasqki engine starting issues

I have a 02/01/02 4x2 gator with a kawasqki FE290d561301 engine that is experiencing
starting problems. So far new carb , sparkplug and air filter. Removed plug to verify spark with naked eye. Seems ok. Any suggestions. Thanks for all your time and effort.

This is my first attempt using a forum so all suggestions would be appreciated.

Ditto, I found some pretty inexpensive replacement pumps on the web. If it is the original, I would replace if only for security.

When you say starting problems, can you provide a little more detail like "spins and spins, tries but sputters, cold start problem, hot start problem".
