On my 2011 825i to there is a round shaped cover plug or cap, inserted into a square opening. This is immediately to the left of the steering wheel and to the right of where the turn signal switch would be. The opening was about 5/8" square. I'm thinking it's a great place to place a horn button.

I do not see this identified in the owner's manual, anyone know what it was there for ?

Thanks in advance

Dan

I think the horn and the box dump switch mount to the left of the steering wheel, might be a directional switch as well.

I wondered the same thing. I assumed it was for the horn. That is where I hoped to mount it.

Ah, see I thought it was for an indicator light for the signals. That is the square hole with the round plug.

I mounted the horn switch in it, looks & works great. I was just wondering what the space was actually for. If i knew how to post pictures I would. I'm old so it hasta be simple for me to do it.
