The lady friend raised them and I butchered them. For the most part I do the butchering. These are Jumbo Coturnix Quail. Boy did they eat good.

mmmmm..the bacon is a great idea. I'll have to try that. Time to break out the Benelli and get me some quail. lol

We bought the eggs and hatched them. These are supposed to be a little bigger than the Bob Whites we see around here. Although since they put the sand hill cranes on the protected list the quail population is almost non-existent. Seems the cranes really like quail eggs. I used to see wild quail all the time at the farm but now I hardly ever see one.

As a kid my brother and I used to roast them on a stick over an open fire. Those were the days.
