Headed up to Charleston Lake in Ontario Canada last Friday. Nice, easy uneventful ride up to camp.
Mochi assumed the position as we trolled for northern pike and any lake trout that still were in the shallower water.

Faxe was good, Hockley Black & Tan was very tasty, I got some Alexander Keith since I enjoyed that last trip and the Caldonian was simply outstanding :drool: They were $2.75 CAD each and worth every penny.
Later that day, my wife work me from my nap about 4:30 ( hey, fishing is hard work :lol: ) and said "the sky looks pretty dark. Maybe we should cover up the boat"
I put on my shoes and all of sudden, the winds came and literally filled the air with debris. Sticks, pine cones, small branches. The larger pine trees were twisting down by our cabin. The wind was picking up the water off the lake and making it look like it was raining. :Wlys: We had straight line winds that easily topped 60 mph/100kph.
The inside of the pontoon boat was wet in seconds from the water the wind picked up ( there was only 30' of water in front of the boat too :hsu: )
There was a couple roofers trying to finish up the boat house roof but a falling branch made it seem like a good idea to get off the roof.

The lights blinked a few times before they went out. Here's part of the reason why

They made a call to Hydro1 ( the electric company ) and we were low on the restore power list due to the amount of damage from the storm. We decided to leave camp the following morning and head home since Friday was the earliest they expected power to be restored in the nearby towns.
When we left, there wasn't any power in Lansdowne ( nearest town 7 miles away ). Ottawa got hit hard and another Canadian motorcycle forum I'm on said they had tornadoes in Toronto.
I'd like to say that was the end of the adventure but NOOOOOOOO. We hit extremely heavy rains on Rt 81 in the Binghamton NY area about 2:30ish in the afternoon. Lightning, torrential downpours ( blinding rains ) and more 60 mph winds.
This morning when we unloaded the boat, we discovered that quite a few pieces of canvas are missing that got blown out of the boat. :Bnghd:
