I have a new 825i. When you start the machine, the is a squealing noise for a couple seconds. I'm assuming this belt in the CVT? Is this normal for these machines? Thanks for the help.

No I think its the serpentine belt of the engine, mine does it too-especially if it is damp.

Mine had that squeal, turned out to be the alternator belt, it was a little on the loose side. Just tightened it up a bit and stopped it.

Mine has this same squeal. It is prominent at slow speeds, but disappears at higher speeds. Alternator belt? If not, which belt? By the way, it was damp outside.

Found out what my squeal was... The squeal stopped when the Gator stopped so I knew that threw the belt idea out the window. Right below the seats under the Gator the drive shaft goes thru a rubber piece before it goes under the cab. The shaft rubbing on that rubber piece was making my squeal. Shot it with lube and it's alllllll gone... Thank goodness! It was about to drive me nutty! So glad it was that simple!!!
