Folk,

My Gator appears to be operating fine, but I have notice (how could I not) a loud higher pitched "Whirling Noise" when I coast (in H gear) down hill. I am assuming this is normal, but I just don't know and since I have only had the Gator two weeks I like to contact the dealer if necessary.

Anyone hear this?

Best, Ted

Yes that is normal, The cvt is making the noise,If you give it alittle gas when going downhill the engine will actually act like a brake and the noise goes away.Your better off doing this in low range.

I have had a HPX, two 620i's and now a 825i. They keep making improvements over the years on new models and with each new model there are bound to be bugs that need worked out and that goes for any color! I have had only one little problem with the 825i and it was taken care of very prometly. My advise is spend the extra $285.00 on the 3 yr extended warranty mainly because of the new engine. Very cheap insurance for a 11-16 thousand dollar machine. Have fun!

One thing I wish that JD would have done to the 825i is put a bigger fuel tank. Man it doesn't last long lol!

Check these out Joe. Made well and don't take up much room.

Thanks bud! I have a gas can I usually bring with me if I go for a long ride just incase. Those are nice because the take up a lot less room.

Yeah, not very inexpensive though. Most of my use is close to home or in a far pasture. When it gets to 1/4 tank I head to the barn. lol
