So I took my HPX to the mountains last weekend to ride some trails. After climbing some steep hills my temp light would come on at idle. As soon as I gave it some throttle it would go out. Any ideas

Did your fan come on?

Yes fan came on regularly. All fluids are full. If I was able to hit a straight run for a while it would then stay off but as soon as I started climbing it would come back on at idle

It could possibly be a few things, Dirty radiator,Thermostat not opening all the way, waterpump not keeping up when your ideling, Sending unit defective or buildup with lime. If you can get ahold of a temp heat gun and measure the temp on the hoses that would show how warm it is running. Being a hpx it probably has many hrs on it. I would drain ,flush coolant system, replace thermostat, clean sender and then try out.
