I know, it's completely off subject, but I was just wondering. Fixing to purchase a zero turn mower (commerical grade).

Opinions, please guys

John Deere of course! 997 with 72 in. deck, yanmar diesel engine, deck is shaft driven no belts to slip or break. If you mow alot of grass this mower is the ticket.

I run a Deere 757 and love it. Mow at 10mph and grass is smooth as glass when done. Not great traction on hills though

Sorry to put this on a John Deere forum but you have got to check out Hustler's Super Z. Doesn't get any better. Industrial grade pumps and drives like a Cadillac. Been cutting grass part time for the past 7 years and Hustler is all we ever use. Very easy to service.

I run a JD Ztrac 727 with 54 inch cut and 7 iron deck. I bought it used from a landscaper who had to scale down due the economy. I love it.

I checked out zero turns back in '08. Checked out quite a few and presented the details to my wife.

She asked if my 1968 cub cadet 125 would last a few more years. I told her it would and she suggested that we purchase this instead.

I have had 3 Kubota Z-Turns, 4 different Exmark Z-turns and now have 2 Deeres. I am running a 2005 797 w/60" deck and a 2009 997 w/72" deck. I will say the 997 is a fuel sippin, mowin grass SOB!!! Its not for everyone, but if you have a large yard, and can justify the $$, it is the ticket. Oh, it doesnt like ditches though.

Sounds like you got the raw end of the deal. The Deere would have been a better choice.:hde::BG:
