Hey all....
I'm new here and am not yet an owner but will be soon. I've been talking to the dealer and using the configuration tool online but have only test drive experience. I am wondering if you all can give me some insite into what options you like, don't like or couldn't live without either from the factory of aftermarket. I'm enjoying reading the forum so far and am looking forward to talking to you all more soon.

Thanks All

I bought my Gator 2 months ago with just the floor mats, bed mat and roof as the only options. Haven't found any need for any other options but I only use the Gator for ranch work in snowless southern california. You might need brush guards, lights, front blade or cab accessories depending on what/ how you intend to use your Gator but you can always add them if you need them. The damm thing is a good work horse imho!!

Purchased 825i in Jan '11 with the Power and Front Protection Package (Power bed lift, floor mats, front brush guard, front fender guards). Also opted for the Ancla MT Extreme tires with steel rims. Added a 72 in standard snow blade. During the first snow, we determined that it would be nice to have the poly roof. Bought it. Then came the ice storm that took down a bunch of our white pine branches. Determined that the hood rack sure would be nice to carry the chain saw and other tools when the bed was piled up with branches (yes the power lift worked great!). Bought it. Over the summer with various projects, decided that the Kolpin clamps would be nice for the long handled tools. Got 4 of em. Now that winter is just around the corner, the No Scratch Poly Windshield would add to the protection the poly roof provides while plowing during the snow events (yes, got one). I'm planning to take the Gator deer hunting with me, so having a winch sure would be cool for getting out of a tight spot or helping with the drag. Just got delivered today. I'm thinking about adding some more lighting............... Good Luck!!!

Lager,
How do you like the standard blade? Has it ever underperformed or made you wish you bought the hydraulic setup?

I purchased my 825i in June. I had the front protection package and power tilt bed on it when I brought it home. Since then I have added a black poly roof, non-scratch windshield, deluxe light kit (turn signals and flashers), one set of long-range lights, and two sets of mid-range lights (one on front and one in back), jd radio kit (Jenson w/ cd and weatherband), and a horn. The two best additions are the roof and windshield. All the rest are nice but a roof keeps the sun and rain off of you and the windshield keeps the bugs, wind, and rain out of my face when the gator is driven fast, which is often. Remember this thing will do 44 mph. I would definitely recommend these 2. The signals I got to make it more street legal and for safety since I often drive it farm to farm. The additional lights have come in handy at night and I am sure in the winter. The radio is pure luxury but it is nice. I plan on getting the poly cab in a few weeks to complete it. Good luck and enjoy. These machines are wonderful.

I think the only things I am missing/wanting are the Winch and Radio.

I got my 825i a few weeks ago, I had the front brush guard and rear OPS rack put on when i got it! I have since put on the Poly Roof, and Non-scratch windshield, have the Deluxe Light kit on order, so as soon as I get it, it will be on also! Also added a rear view mirror, just for seeing in back of ya while going down road, easier to see if somebody is coming up on ya!

Lager,
How do you like the standard blade? Has it ever underperformed or made you wish you bought the hydraulic setup?

Redowl, It performed fine. I do have the electric hydraulic lift but if you mean hydraulics for changing the angle of the blade, I don't mind getting off to change the angle. We only got a few uses out of it last winter and I use the 3720 with loader and rear blade on the tough stuff. I didn't want to sink a whole lot into the blade since I have the tractor too. But I must say, putting the blade on and off is a breeze! Two pins on the under carriage and one to the electric lift. Drop it on one of those furniture dollies and roll it away. Takes about 2 minutes!

I'm also interested in this trailer and if John Deere currently makes it. It seems perfect for the 825.
