I purchased these mirrors on ebay but I did NOT like the look when I mounted them on the cage as directed. So I bought a piece of 1/8" X 3" steel and some rubber coated electrical clamps from Menards and made these brackets to go onto the front basket. They look great and work great and they do not stick out and make the XUV even wider than it is.

The brackets that you are using will most likely work as you have several of them on each mirror, but I did use those same brackets to mount a tool tube on my dual sport motorcycle and they all broke. The tool tube was made from a tube used to carry welding rods sold a Home Depot, they are water proof and made of tuff plastic, I had no problem with the tube just the mounting brackets where the tube mounted to the inside of the luggage racks. The reason I think that you will ok with the brackets is that the tool tube with the weight of the tools inside is much more weight then the mirrors would be and should work well. You did a nice job and it's always nice to see what others do to improve something that needed to be made better to start with.

Humblemonk,

How do you like your winch mounted on the removable receiver hitch? Any Pros and Cons?
Thanks!
