Purchased a 625I this summer. I didn't look at the 825 bacause speed was not a consideration. Engine and exhaust noise was so bad I went back to dealer who traded with me for a 825I. Engne noise much better. Now I have the noise in the front drive train that I have read about here in the Forum. My 825 was assembled in August of this year and I'm having a hard time believing John Deere would continue shipping machines with this known problem if it is a bearing or the design of the front drive shaft. The mechanic at my dealer says he's not familiar with the problem. If this is a common noise with the 825 I'm afraid I'll have to get rid of this one too. It seems there is no way to talk with a Deere Rep, only the dealers. What to do?

I bought mine in March of this year. I have not heard any noise or had a problem. I wonder what happened down the line to cause this issue?

Get on john deere web site and post a complaint on the situation you are having, dealer's name, model and serial number. They will contact the area service rep about you problem and get back to you.

Had a chance today to isolate the cause of the noise. I disconnected the driveshaft from the rear so the drive shaft was not turning when I drove the gator, no noise! I reconnected the driveshaft at the rear and disconnected it from the front differential, drive shaft turning when I drove, no noise! I reconnected front driveshaft, noise. It appears the problem must be in the front differential. Another thread I read mentioned ring gear backlash. Does anyone know whats involved in adjusting the ring gear?

It is the pillow bearing that holds the drive shaft in place. I believe that they have an improved pillow bearing that they can install at the dealer that will fix the noise most likely. I would go to another dealer. I am sure that they would all do the warranty work for you.

how about the bearings that are on the CV boots as i call them. They dealer said they had one come in where both front CV joints/bearings just blew out
