620i Gator-How do you determineif if 4wd works.

I was in a sand pit and started to climb the sides. put switch to 4wd and smelled like belt was smoking. What is the problem. I didn't see front wheels spin.How can you test to see if it works? Thank you This is a 2010 with 175 hours

1- go to a sand pit.
2- get stuck in 2 wheel drive
3- put in 4 wheel drive and get out :hehe:

Best way would be first put in netrual and lock it in. Put shifter in LOW to climb anything so belt grabs good. If front tires are not pulling then you know.

Main belt will slip when wet and spinning it dry will leave a little puff of belt smoke but just a whiff ya know.

Since you have 175 hours I would look at your alternater belt. My diesel unit has 165 hours and look at my belt. :OhNoes:
