I've got an 825i new yesterday. I was setting the clock and the mph/kph etc...when I ran across a display for the ambient air temperature in Farenheit and Celsius...(didn't know it had a temperature gauge). Oddly, the Farenheit was showing -22 F which was not even close as it was about 50 degrees here in Illinois at the time. This "temperature" gauge was at the top-center of the display between the RPM (on the left) and the clock (on the right). When I pressed the down arrow to exit the display menu.....unfortunately the temperature guage disappeared.

This does NOT exist according to the owners manual....but there it was! Does anyone know how to keep this "temperature" guage on? It would be a nice feature to have (especially when it's really cold outside).

This has been a question for a while. On my machine the air temperature gauge only appears on start up while the machine makes its initial gauge check. One of the popular thoughts has been that it is a LED display that has been designed or used on other JD equipment that does have an air temperature gauge. There has been some thought expressed that all one has to do is connect a sending unit to the display in order to display the air temperature.

Please keep us posted with any additional information you find.

OK, I finally did it. Yesterday I installed salvaged connector terminals in the unused positions on connectors C-25 and C-26. The answer is: C-26D. I hooked up a thermistor salvaged from an automobile AC system and the display responded by displaying temp in F. Calibration is off, it shows 43* when ambient temp is more like 64* so I still need to find the correct value thermistor. Also, I was unable to make it display C. You Kanucks will need to figure out how to make it parler le francaise.3434
