I just upgraded from an AMT622 to a Gator 6x4. I just had a craving to change from 5 wheels to an even number. Plus the AMT brake calipers have real problems and it makes me nervous to drive it to the post office or store.

My ID tag is gone to the point that it's useless. I've heard a rumor that the serial number or model number is also stamped into the frame somewhere. Can anybody confirm or deny that?

Was there a 6x4 model before the TH? I looked at the TH owner's manuals online, and my machine is a little different. The major controls look the same, but my dash is different. I have 5 idiot lights (functions unknown because the plastic cover is gone) right behind the steering wheel, and the ignition key is in the center of the dash, not down by the steering wheel.

The machine is usable, but needs some work. So I need a specific enough model number to be able to identify the correct parts on the Deere website.

Thanks for your help.

I have several of the 2002 6x4 gators and the serial number is on the top of the frame member inboard of the radiator alligned with the radiator cap.
hope this helps

Thanks Dave. I found it.

So far everything is great with the 6x4, except for getting it high centered and stuck in the orange grove a few times.
