Bought a beat up 2007 gas 6x4 a few months ago. I thought the 6 wheels were "cool." I originally thought I would fix it up and resell it after playing with it for awhile, but the Gator has turned out to be one of the handiest things I have ever owned. Also, my wife LOVES it and won't let me sell it now anyway. We have been using it for fetching rocks for several walls we are building, getting firewood, hauling construction materials etc. Great little machine. Recently we bought a plow and winch for it and I am looking forward to the next snowstorm...

While the lack of rear suspension and overall ground clearance limits this machines ability for sport offroad activities, I am still very impressed with how well it does in rough stuff. I am amazed at the Gators ability to haul a load of rocks or wood out of the woods. Besides, we have dirt bikes for off roading...
The last owner of this machine was a fool. The Gator had the wrong spark plugs in it, the chains were shot, the oil drain plugs for the transmission and engine were were all buggered up, the oil filter was on so tight that part of the rubber gasket was squeezed out (had to chisel the filter off!) and many bolts were either the wrong size or stripped etc, etc. BUT, I got a really good price on this Gator so I could afford some fixing up.
I will eventually strip this Gator down and repaint the frame. I will also make up some doors for it.
Our other equipment is all JD stuff: a 425 garden tractor with a 3pth and soon a loader, spreader, mower etc. The JD equipment seems to be very good quality and the wife is partial to it.
Looking forward to being a part of this forum.
