Which Battery Tender do you use? I think the Battery Tender Jr. is too small for the Gator.

I bought a simalar item at Autozone a few years back for my motorcycle. For less money it does the same thing. It is for cars, trucks, atv, utv, garden tractors, and motor cycles. It should be enough for the gator. My bike is 2053 cc and it does fine.I would say if you are not trying to recharge a dead battery you should be alright. They are also sold at wal mart.Hope that helps you.

Likewise...I use the same on all of my stuff...it's a computer chip driven trickle charger, and all it does is to keep the battery at full charge when it's sitting idle...if you aren't putting out enough juice with your alternator to begin with, then that has to be fixed first...if you are just doing normal riding and want to keep the battery topped off after each use while it sits, then a Battery Tender Jr. is more than enough to handle the job...

I have a Battery Tender Jr I use on the bike but I bought a nice little automatic charger from Tractor Supply for $20. Mine has them on sale now so I bought another one. It seems to work pretty dang good. I even put it on my tractor and it charged it up full in about 24 hours and it is a big battery.

Thanks everyone for their info. I see that the Battery Tender Jr. is .75 amp whereas the the Battery Tender Plus is 1.5amp. Does anybody know which I should use for the Gator? I use a 1.5amp for my ATV and it has a much smaller battery.

The battery in the JD is 480 Cold Cranking Amps. Not sure you all know that the SPECS in the owner's manual is wrong on which electrical system our 825i's have. They have it listed as a 340 CCA battery. And some of the older manuals have a 35 amp Alternator, and our 825i's have a 75 amp alternator.

Thanks again!

In the process of switching out the 40amp. alternator on a 855D to a 90amp. due to the draw from so many added
items, lights, radio/amp/sub woofer, plow, spreader, etc. John Deere didn't have an upgrade for the alternator and couldn't rebuild factory stock unit so went to outside source and need to make a new brackets to make work. Anyone see a problem doing this since the battery keeps draining down?

Thanks,
