Transmission shifter

[B]My 825i [B]has about 150 hours. Parked on level. Left in H gear and turned it off. 20 minutes later I went to start it up. The lever won't move from H to N It seems stuck in between so I can't turn it over. It won't move up or down. Any thoughts? My dealer is 100 miles away. Can't even tow it or push it on a trailer because rear end is locked. Moving it to 4 wd or 2 wd makes no difference. Neither does moving the lever to locked or unlocked. Thanks:OhNoes:

Lift up the cargo box and locate the shifter linkage at the transmission, put a channel lock on the shift arm and gently move it and see if it goes into nuetral. Sounds like the cable might be binding.Also make sure park brake is off and rock the machine while your trying to do this.

mine broke off they other day ,, warranty covered it
