I have an older 6x4 gator and am having steering issues. I can turn the steering wheel in either direction and the front wheels turn, but the gator keeps going straight. I've heard it may be a weight issue, but it didn't used to do this. It just started a little while ago. I haven't checked tire pressure, but plan to do that this weekend. Any other thoughts on what it could be, what to look for, etc...????? Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you jacked the machine making sure the tires/wheels rotate freely? If the tires do not spin freely it does not matter if the wheels are right or left, machine will plow forward.

Is your transaxle lock (little thingy by the forward/reverse selector) off? The steering is a lot less effective when lock is on, and on loose enough ground I could imagine the gator going straight even though the front wheels are cranked over and turning.
