View Full Version : Fuel Filter Anyone??

just wondering if anyone noticed the filter behind the drivers seat not the one listed anywhere in manual? with the bench seats i could only see it with bed in the air and looking from motor forward towards seat theirs about a 2 inch hole and a little in line filter like a lawn mower has looks like a real wopper to change just to get at it, anyone change this yet?

Yes i have changed one and they are a s.o.b. to do. Use 2 needle nose pliers is the best way and 3 hands.The filter number is AM141445.

so you changed it without taking anything apart? what a dumbass place for a filter. how often are ya supposed to change the dam thing?

If your fuel is clean you should't have to worry about it. You can also tell by looking at it,if it looks darker on the filter portion then change it.:Thmup:

what about elimenating it all together? since there is a filter in the engine compartment is this filter really needed? i know the more filtration the better but is it really needed?

That filter is for any debris that could be in the tank before the fuel pump. It costs $2.97 compaired to $16.30 for the main filter. It's your choise!

I think when it is time for me to change that filter, I will remove my bench seat. Seems a lot easier. I saw the filter yesterday as I was greasing my machine, and greasing my face, arms, neck, you get the picture!
