I've gotta replace the rear outside cv boot on my 825i. How involved is it and will I need any special tools? It's out of warranty now so I want to do it myself.

Welcome to the Forum! Do you have any idea how the boot got damaged? If you look on Ebay there is an individual that is selling the "downloaded" maintenance manual for the 825i. I could not imagine owning the 825i without this manual. Once purchased (less then $10.00) you receive an email and can download the entire manual onto your system.
I just looked at mine and found the section for replacing the boot. Has step by step procedures WITH pictures (something that I need). I would download it to the Forum for you but have no clue as how to.
Take a moment and jump over to Ebay. I just looked and the seller "coupon-city" is still there. Manual is $9.00. Seller is located in Shelbyville, KY. I have actually spoke to him by telephone when I purchased my eletronic manual. A real fine and honest man.
This will be the best $9.00 you have spent in years!

Ok I'm going to buy the service manual online and then I'm going to give it a shot. I'm just wondering if I'll need and special tools.
