Very new to the gator please help

Hey guys new to the forum and the gators so bare with me please. Ok I found a gator 2x4 at a pretty good deal I'm thinking hard on buying but I don't want to if it's going to be a big headache. The gator runs good but I was told the transmission would slip on an incline or in a bind. Could this be a clutch belt or what? Maybe they have been runnin regular motor oil in it? I know no history on it just that theyve owned it for around 5 years. They don't seem to know hardly anything about the machine so I'm having to dig to figure it out. Should I buy or pass? Please help! Thanks

Had the same problem on a polaris long ago and was a worn belt.

Sounds like a belt. How many hours are on it and what was it used for? Welcome to the forum we will help anyway we can.

Some of the older gaters only brakes on the rear wheels and was on the drive line so if on a hill one wheel can slide the opposite wheel keeps turning not to good in hilly country
