Ok, very familiar with atv's and what not, no issues working on them. Traded my 06 yamaha 660 grizzly for a 2000 4x2 gator. It is much more family friendly and farm friendly than the grizzly. My problem is I cant find out anything about my gator. It has a PIN #, guessing thats like the VIN #(w004x2x059577). Best I can tell it is a kawasaki engine. Frogive me for not knowing what cx, ts, and all the other acronyms are.

First, if someone could help me know more about my gator...engine, is there a model or is just the 4x2, anything else that may be pertinent to ordering parts.

Secondly, when idling and driving, i have slight blue smoke that smells like exhaust. Need to replace the rings?

Third, what type oil do you guys use that meets the OEM specs? Im in alabama(usually 30F - 100F)

Fourth, thanks for any help. Sorry for questions I know that you see on a daily basis, but again, it is appreciated!

Looking at the JD serial numbers you have a TX, the only thing is I can't find a 2000. Check out this site and look up your serial number after you check to make sure the one you have listed above is correct. http://www.green-parts-direct.com/
You should be able to find everything you want on that site. Plus attatude isn't going to get you anywhere on this site. :BG:

This is the best Gator site and best group of guys. Don't step on your deck when you walk in here. Many willing to help you out here but most of us work at least one job and it sometimes takes us a bit to get back on here and look around.

Now, if you go here http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.HomePa geServlet_Alt?search=model&model=gator

You should find just about all the info you need. As far as the smoke goes, it is probably the rings or possibly the valve seals.
