I have a 2011 xuv 625i with 233 hours it is running rich and has a missfire/rough idle lacks and power. I have serviced it several times because it operates in dusty conditions and I just replaced the spark plugs. Only short drive and both plugs are black. This spring when it was brought out of the garage with only 149 hours the exhaust manifold had rusted completely out I and it ran terrible. I complained to the dealer and they replaced the exhaust, wires to the #1 coil, spark plug and the basic control unit 112 under warranty. Now dealer says warranty has expired and want $ just to look at it. This is very disappointing thought quality would be better any ideas where I should start in trying to figure out what?s wrong.

After hours of testing I noticed the 2 electrical connecters at the #1 ignition coil looked like they had got hot and melted the plastic covers. Checking the connection to the #1 coil I noticed the wires to the coil were wrapped in black electrical tape the #2 coil wires were not wrapped and I could see the wire insulation and colors. I removed the tape and found the wire insulation burned completely off. One of the wires was green and the other only had a couple strands still attached. I replaced the wires installed new connectors covered them in loom for better protection. On a test drive it did not run much better I pulled the plug cleaned them ran the engine till it was fully warmed up and sprayed out the throttle body with a carburetor cleaner. Next morning it started right up and I could tell the idle was being adjusted automatically something I do not remember it ever doing before. On test drive it ran great felt as if the engine had twice the power. I am going to take the burned wires back to the dealer don’t expect anything but maybe next time they will listen to me when I tell them the problem has to be related to the work they did in the past.

Glad you were able to figure it out....something electrical isn't easy to find. Shame on the dealer for not stepping up if this was a recurring issue from when your unit was under warranty.:Nnd:
