Has anybody purchased tire chains for their 825i? If so where? I have the Maxxis Bighorn's and would like a set of snow chains!

Thanks!

I don't know about the 825 (I have an 850) but I think my manual specifically says to not use tire chains. I'm not sure how well the chains would ride on the deep treads. I sorta thought the chains would work themselves down between the lugs and might actually hurt traction by plugging the tread. If you could get the chains to ride on top of the lugs they probably would be a big help on ice though I can't see them helping too much in snow.

I used this style on my RTV 500 and I will be using the same on my 825i this winter....go with a studded diamond ice chain and it can't fall between lugs.....they work awesome :Ysnd:

You are not suppose to use tire chains on the 825i it will tell you in the owners book, and we are in for a lot of snow this year too.

I'm not surprised you're not supposed to but I'll be running ice chains anyway....I'll risk the axle to save sliding sidways down a hill any day of the week.:Ysnd: I'll only have them on the rear axle but I'm 99% sure I'll need something this winter.

I can't imagine chains are any worse than driving on pavement in 4wd with the differential locked.

Thanks for all the responses! Any idea why JD would say not to use chains?

ICC is the brand

They are the single diamond studded chains. I used them on my RTV and after seeing how they worked my father put a set on his Kubota BX tractor and they've worked great for that as well....good chains.
