My first JD product ever! After 8 months of R&D on side X sides It was easy to choose the 2012 Gator 825i! I have had it for 2 weeks now and other than a quick drive, I have kept it hidden while I customize my gator to a useful unit that has a look of "Bad Ass" Its the VINNIE Edition! I have read, looked, searched and learned for this forum and everyother bit of information I could find. I would like your honest input and PLEASE if you have done some custom work on your JD please post pictures. This first pic is only from week one, I will post more on Monday once I do the final touches this weekend. This is not meant to be a show piece, but a possible production package. I work in the automotive marketing field and tried to come up with something that is truely a LIMITED EDITION that people would pay extra for but actually be useful.

I expect that the alternator DOES keep up j. I was really surprised to see that these things have a 75 Amp alternator and a reasonably good sized battery. I think JD must have had lots of electrical accessories including winches in mind.

Okay went to www.superbrightleds.com and bought some "Lil Lights" and just installed them. Front is the 72W and back is the 26W and in the cab I put 2 red single LED I wired to the factory lights so whenever I turn on the lights the cab is like the cockpit of a stealth bomber! I post night pics soon.
Here are some pics of the final install.
1654 1655 1656 With the Boss Vplow and all the lights Im maxing at 57amps leaving the huge alt to still charge the battery!

After adding a few light options, I added 2 Red LED's in the Cab wired to the factory light switch. I also added a 14" 72W LED Light bar between top Halogen spots and one 26 W 14" LED between rear spots.

Last pic is Factory headlights. Here is all my front Leds.

How are you guys routing the wires on your overhead lights? Zip tie to the cage?...or have you routed inside, and if so how?

Also wondering where you ran the wires in the roll cage??
I build a safari rack (4' x 4' roughly) and then build a multi winch plate. I will be adding 4 driving lights in the front 1 in the rear to shine in the bed and 2 strobes 1 in the front and 1 in the rear MAYBE add 1 on each sides.
Hopefully start here soon. just need to order the strobes. With my first child on its way (monday) my time is running out!!! but in a good way i guess:Thmup:
Will also be building an ICE AUGER holder this winter i hope.

The wires for the deluxe cab are run through the inside of the frame. I'm not sure on the standard cab.

1719 1720I got the JD Power box and put it on the roll bar. 1St switch controls the front top side Halogens, the second switch controls the rear LED and 2 Halogens and the third one controls the big LED in the center front. Went thru the roll bar cage to the wire harness. simple and easy and Loomed all the wires in black and zip tied for a clean look. The 2 Red LEDs in the cab I put on the front Roll and zip tied the lights instead of screwing them in allowing me to move and aim the lights but still tight and holds where you put them. Those I ran to the main light switch from the factory the one 3way OFF at the bottom, Rear on 1st and Front lights and rear on Top of toggle.

WOW! Great looking machine with very nice mods! Red neon lights inside the cockpit remind me of the "red light districts"! :partyLOL. Keep up the good work.

Nice install. I think the red interior lights on mine spend more time on than any of the other lights.

How do you have the parking lights wired? I assume you have switched them so that they would come on as parking lights not just turn signals.

You need to add two female connectors to the factory light harness and tap into the wire for the first position of the light switch. The bulb is a dual filament but only wired for hazard/blinkers.
This is what you need http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-85335
Here's a good detailed thread on how to http://www.johndeeregatorforum.com/forum/showthread.php?11889-Finally-got-Front-Parking-Lights-Wired-If-you-have-Turn-Signal-Option&highlight=parking+lights

It's the pink wire 830A. I cut 2 18 gauge wires 5 feet long and soldered the dorman 85335 on one end of each. Pulled the both plugs off the front running lights and removed the blank rubber plug from the middle slot. Installed the wire with female connector and sealed it up with some liquid gasket maker. Then run the wire up through factory raceway. Do other side and tap the two wires into factory wire 830A behind the dash. Half hour to an hour job.

looks like this was an old post but if you think you might be interested I would send you photos. I am trying to get members interested in my snorkel system I fabricated recently I have posted it with photos but not much interest it has stopped the constant replacement of air filters , some of the replies I got is that it didn't have that Kand N appearance , I didn't build it for great appearance but for the functions it was designed for , don't have much water here to go down in but it would work fine for that also , I also designed a Brush Guard and a clutch Snorkle to cool the clutch and Belt , this works great, hope to her from you, Al
