1st off . I'm new to this forum. But I have been researching the 850rsx models and just want any input on which I should choose between the sport and trail models. They just seem like they are very similar with just a few things that really could be added to one or the other. Is one more significantly suited for specific usage as opposed to the other? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My opinion is the 825 is better suited for work. By that I mean it is can do more work. It is fun to play with and very good speed. Wider but with more sq ft capacity in the bed.
825 has a 75 amp alternator where the 850 has 38 amp
825 weighs in at 1630 and the 850 at 1360
825 towing is 1500 pounds the 850 is 1200
825 payload is 1400 and the 850 is 800 (all most half)
825 ground clearance is 11 inches and the 850 is 10

Other than size and HP those are the things that stand out to me.

If your PRIMARY use is fun, go with the 850 I guess.
If for work and play? Go with the 825 would be my advice.
I sure you will like either one.

That pretty much hits the nail on the head !

Well, I feel like a real fool. Not the first time either. I just looked at this again and realized he was talking about the Sport or Trail model 850. Not the 825 and 850......:hde:

It all depends on what you want in a bike. You could always build it how you want it that way you get the items you want and can leave off the stuff you do not want (which is what I did with my 825i). These two packages are not the only options.
