Stopped into the local JD dealership here to check on my tractor being repaired and asked about my RSX oil change because the break in oil is almost at it's hour change. They strongly recommended using JD Synthetic Plus-50 II Premium Engine Oil (SAE 0W-40) For The RSX850i. Because this is a high output motorcycle racing engine it needs to have the best oil. Also because of this fact starting and just taking right off cold is not the best for any engine but starting an engine and let it warm up some before heading out is just good preventative maintenance.
Below is the info on the oil. :Chers:

Synthetic Plus-50 II Premium Engine Oil (SAE 0W-40) has been designed to provide advanced lubricant performance in modern engines to meet the requirements of EPA regulations. SAE 0W-40 Plus-50 II is a full synthetic PAO (Poly Alpha Olefin) based oil to provide excellent performance.
Applications
Excellent for all diesel engines requiring 0W-40 viscosity and API Service Classification CJ-4, SM, and Mack EO-N Premium Plus 03. Superior performance for customers who operate in extremely cold conditions and want to maximize engine life and performance.
Features and benefits
Unique to John Deere – formulated with exclusive Plus-50 II additive and 100% PAO (polyalphaolefins) synthetic base oil
Excellent for other brands of diesel engines
Excellent for all automotive heavy- and light-duty diesel engines
Synthetic base stock with the Plus-50 II additives provide excellent performance in a temperature range of -40?F to 122?F (-40?C to 50?C)
Additive package reduces engine wear and provides superior protection against high-temperature thickening as compared to competitive oils – offers additional protection in neutralizing corrosive acids formed as by-products of combustion
Formulated specifically to inhibit oxidation, deposit, corrosion, and wear with superior soot control
Performance is equal to Plus-50 15W-40 in wear reduction and antioxidation tests
Provides maximum sludge and varnish control
Superior low-temperature fluidity reduces engine startup wear in cold weather
Drain intervals may be extended up to 500 hours when used with John Deere oil filters in John Deere engines
Reduces maintenance costs and downtime, and extends engine life

3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Emergency Overview:
Clear, Amber, Liquid. (May be dyed or odor masked.)
Health studies have shown that petroleum hydrocarbons pose
potential human health risks which may vary from person to
person. Exposure to liquids, mists, vapors and fumes should
be minimized.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS:
INHALATION:
Vapors are minimal under normal conditions but should be
avoided, concentrations may reach levels that could cause
slight irritation.
EYE CONTACT:
May cause slight temporary eye irritation. Corneal injury
is unlikely. Vapors or mists may irritate eyes.
SKIN CONTACT:
May cause skin irritation. Discontinue use if irritation
persists.
INGESTION:
Ingestion of oil may irritate the digestive tract and could
cause diarrhea. Single dose oral toxicity is greater than
5000 mg/Kg in rats.
OTHER:
The TLV has not been determined for this material. The ACGIH TLV
and the OSHA PEL for oil mists are both 5 mg/cubic meter.
Hazardous Material Identification System (HMIS):
Health-1, Flammability-1, Reactivity-0 (Based on components)

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
INHALATION:
Remove the victim from the area to fresh air. Call a
physician. Give oxygen if victim is breathing hard.
EYE CONTACT:
Flush eyes with large amounts of water immediately for 15
minutes or until irritation subsides. If irritation
persists, get medical attention.
SKIN CONTACT:
Wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and water. Remove
contaminated clothing and wash them before wearing again.
Call a physician if irritation persists.
INGESTION:
Call a doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless
directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything
by mouth to an unconscious person.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Flash point : 390oF (COC)
Flammable limits : Not Available
Auto-ignition Temperature: Not Determined
GENERAL HAZARD:
May release vapors that form flammable mixtures when
temperatures are at or above the flash point. Toxic gases
will form upon combustion.
FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Either allow fire to burn out under controlled conditions
or extinguish with foam, CO2, or dry chemical. Try to cover
liquid spills with foam. Shut off fuel to fire if
possible to do so without hazard.
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT:
NIOSH approved self-contained breathing apparatus and eye
protection are required for firefighting personnel on all
indoor fires and any significant outdoor fires.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS:
Smoke, fumes, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and water.
NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (NFPA)
Health-1, Flammability-1, Reactivity-0 (Based on components)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Notify the appropriate authorities immediately. Take all
actions necessary to prevent adverse effects of the spill.
Eliminate ignition sources. Shut off leak if safe to do so.
Dike spilled liquid with sand/earth and dispose of properly.
DO NOT use sawdust or other combustible materials. Prevent
product from entering sewers or waterways.

materials. (See Section 10) Keep away from heat, sparks and
flames. Empty container may still retain hazardous properties.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
ENGINEERING CONTROLS:
Use mechanical ventilation to control vapor concentrations in
confined spaces. General ventilation should be sufficient for
most operations.
PERSONAL PROTECTION:
Respirator:
Use a NIOSH approved air supplied respirator when concentrations
are over the exposure limits.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No component of this product present at levels greater than 0.1% are
identified as a carcinogen by NTP, IARC or OSHA. This product uses
synthetic base oil not refined from petroleum base stocks. The
potential of base oil prepared by this process to cause cancer has
not been specifically addressed by the OSHA Hazard communication
Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), the International Agency for Research
on Cancer (IARC), nor the National Toxicology Program (NTP) Annual
Report. However, the process conditions, chemical analysis, and
the results of mutagenicity tests all support our opinion that
these oils should not cause skin cancer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
This material may be toxic to aquatic animals based on data for
additive components and is not expected to be readily biodegradable.
