I have a 5045D that I spent lots of time comparing to the equivalent Kubota, as I recall it was something like an M1048 model or something like that. The JD dealer was a high volume dealer and I got a better price, so I bought the JD. If the Kubota had been cheaper, I would have bought it because I couldn't find any difference between them.

I've had the 5045D for over two years now and I couldn't be more pleased with it.
