John Deere makes a wide variety of sxs's and all of them are great. Depends on what you want to do with it.

Welcome wirenut. I too was looking for more of a utility side by side more so than a speed racer. I think I found the best of both worlds in the 825i. The new 850 is nice also but big $$$ in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum!! I think you will find that the John Deere is the best value for your money. Some UTV's are cheaper, but there is a reason for that. When I first started looking for a sxs last year, I test drove the Kawasaki and Polaris units. Both were decent machines, but the 825i is sturdier, more powerful and had a better initial warranty. At that time both Kawasaki and Polaris only offer a 6 month warranty. I think that has changed now because JD was killing them with a full year.
