Compared to the 825i, how does the 850i handle water?
Is it correct that the cvt intake and exhaust, plus air intake all route behind the seat?
If so, does this make it easier to snorkel and make more water capable or is it still and issue to bury the motor in water for a bit like I've heard its bad for on the 825i? Thanks

a lot better lol. The air inlet and cvt is behind the seats and up high.

They make a great snorkel for it too at snorkelyouratv.com

I know i"ve read on here that with the 825i, even if you snorkelled the air intake and cvt inlet/outlet, you still shouldn't put it under water because of the alternator and electronics. Is this different with the 850i? I know with my 825i, I got the clutches wet and was stuck in a ditch, along with now the belts and starter squeal all the time at idle, but most loudly at start up.

How deep was the water you think caused your problems?

the 850I doesn't have a traditional alternator like the 825i. the 825i is like a car motor and the 850i is a motorcycle style setup. everything is self contained and sealed for the most part.

HaHa........, and details are very POOR judgement on my part.

Pull plugs, on sixth oil change(likely need a couple more) and third cvt change(again likely need a couple more. Had to take clutch cover off and clean and dry to get it driving today. It's got the service light on(timing is messed up I think). Trailer it in to Deere tomorrow if I have a chance.

It's been a glorious first 11 miles for my new gator!. Good thing my old prowler was there to pull me out and home.:Bnghd:

@ harleydog. They replaced ECM, apparently it had water in it. It's located beside the throttle body. Considering its location I'm a little worried about it being a common problem. Initially the were looking at a coil pack because another machine had come in with similar symptoms and that's what it was. Good luck.
