Hello,
We picked up our new RSX 850i trail last Saturday. In my late 40's I have left the dirt bikes and atv's behind for the 850. It sees some light duty around the place and sits in the shed with several other pieces of green equipment. In addition to odd jobs, I bought the rsx to trail ride with my wife and other couples who have various brand sbys's. We are lucky to be close enough to hit several well known ATV/UTV parks-windrock, TN, Hat/McCoy and numerous private off the map locations.
I have been looking the past week for a spare tire/wheel mount kit for the 850. I found one I think was offered through Deere. I can't seem to find it on line now and was just wondering what folks were using for the above deal. Any aftermarket offerings etc.?
Thanks in advance,

Brought in the professional surfer-the wife- found the Deere factory mount option-duh on me. So, any "better mousetraps" that folks are using instead of the factory mount?
TIA

Member Mountain Goat made a cool looking mount for his 550.

Mountain Goat did a nice job. Looks like we may need to get the ProTools 105 air over hydraulic bender out of mothballs. Thanks for the link

Hey, I have been trying to find this online as well. What is the link to the site where you found it?

The spare tire mount is visible on the John Deere website if you "build your own" to price out a machine. It's listed under cargo box options/storage. It's part number BM23385 for $231. Unfortunately they do not have a picture. Green Farm Parts has it for a bit less here (http://www.greenfarmparts.com/product-p/bm23385.htm).

This (http://www.dowdatractor.com/OemParts#%2fJohn_Deere%2fRSX_Gator_Utility_Vehicle _850i_Trail_-PC10871%2fTire_Rack%3a_Frame%2cWheels_%26_Operator s_Station%2f1108710002%2f10871D691C0608000016) parts site has a diagram of the bracket.

New RSX owner here. I have the factory spare tire mount in the bed, My questions:
1) Can one purchase one wheel/tire that will work on both front and rear? If so what size?
2) Where is a good place to purchase a wheel/tire
3) What jack do you guys carry on the trail, where do you store it?

Thanks
Richard

Welcome to the forum and I'm jealous of your RSX.

1. I would pick the front tire size to use as a spare. It can be used in the back and will not cause interference problems or steering difficulty if used on the front.

2. I purchased my second set of tires online based on price. They were drop shipped from a distributor and the retailer did not know squat about what rims would fit a Gator so I got what I paid for. Ordering tires is easy but make sure the specs are correct for the wheel mounting; diameter, width, offset, bolt circle, number of bolts, bolt hole size and hole size in center of rim.

3. The slippery slope of carrying a spare tire on a small vehicle with big tires... spare tire, jack, wrench. A small 1 ton bottle jack and some blocks of wood will work. A high lift jack is probably more appropriate. Make sure you get a big foot for it or carry a broad plank so your can jack when on soft ground.

I have one for sale that has been used on two trips listed on the classifieds section. I got 28" tires now and they are just sitting in my basement.

I sent you a personal message, consider the front tire/wheel sold. Thanks Richard
