This whole problem with my fuel pump not shutting off got me looking to these forums closely to see if others had the same problems. I'm still looking for the answer but I noticed there seems to be alot of problems with gas in the oil which I don't have but it got me to thinking; is idling bad for the Gator? We bought ours exclusively for ranch work, mainly feeding the horses which means we'll load up the hay bales and then scoot to one set of stalls, throw some flakes for 30-seconds or so, then jump back in and ride to the next set of stalls for 30 seconds and feed there for a 30 seconds and so on for about 10 minutes. Would we be putting less stress on the engine turning it off then back one and off and on and the like or just letting it idle for that full 10-minuite circuit? It's given us trouble free operation 400+ hours in the past 7 years just idling and waiting for us to toss the flakes.
