Fuel gauge quit working on 2011 825I. The gauge is on fuel tank. I pulled the gauge out and it works fine manually. I guess the float has took on some gas this too heavy. I called dealer and of course he said replace gauge. The machine has only 72 hours on it. It's the wife's machine that I bought her due to surgery on her left foot which left her disabled. Has anyone else had this problem? I sure don't want her to run out of fuel; the gauge stays on empty. Open to suggestions.

Just check the fuel once a week/month depending on how much use it gets and top it off. You can also get in the habit of adding fuel whenever your odometer hits an even 50 or 100 mile mark. Or, you could always replace the fuel gauge, it's about $29.

Those style fuel gauges have had problems with the cork exspanding and sticking on the twist. Only thing to do is replace it.

Thanks for the replies. A new gauge is what it will be.

I have the same problem with mine, I always look in the tank b4 I go for a ride. Even a quarter inch of gas in the bottom will last a while. I've got just shy of 5000 miles and never ran out!
