View Full Version : John Deere Customer Stories
I am working with John Deere on a customer outreach project to collect stories and feedback about the Gator
If you have a story about your Gator, how you use it for recreation and/or work, we would appreciate a few minutes of your time.
Please contact us at johndeerestories@gmail.com. I or one of our other researchers will contact you and arrange a convenient time for a brief conversation about your John Deere experience. All contact information is confidential, and you will not become a part of an email list with John Deere or any other company.
Your time is valuable and so is your John Deere tale.
Thanks

My story expaned from another thread.
Our progression:
1. wife wanted a utv for trails in the woods - I was not originally interested but they did look neat. She saw a Coleman at BJ's
2. I wanted to look at JD - never owned a JD product unless you count a Scott's mower (made by JD). Initial dealer steered us to 625/825. I wanted utility (big bed, etc) to use around the area (35 acres but not very flat)
3. quoted the 625 from dealers, so was around $10k to $12k when we started
4. lots of reading here and elsewhere, saw bunch of youtube videos, get more interested, finally drove both with various options (steering, tires, seats, 625 and 825)
5. Decided liked the 825 for power, smoother take off, upgraded wheels, hey it is only money..
6. ordered the 825i, took 4 long weeks to get. I passed the truck delivering it going the wrong way and called the dealer (delivery guy was doing another stop to do some PM).
7. After a few drives, I detailed it: good wash, protected textured plastics with trim protectant, applied spray on smooth panels (inside and out)
8. sticker shock over, see what others are doing, want more. Decided not interested in new car anytime soon ....
9. Spent a quite of bit of time (hours) in woods with the wife cutting trees for the trails...planning sections..seeing all sorts of the property I never noticed..too far to walk.
10. Ordered a winch, got a list going (some for Christmas).

Lily, do you want the good with the bad? I love my 825, but have recently been told by my dealer that I should keep it out of mud and water because it's not designed for that. That's the short. Version...

Lilly I have a great story about my Gator and what it can do... Please contact me at guy@thepartytrailer.com.
This is what happens to a real old gator when I get ahold of it!
1. Stretched 20"
2. A full travel lift on the back that can lift 2k pounds! It also unfolds to act as a wheel chair lift
3. 2 Bench seats that allow 6 to ride in the back
4. 2 Custom roll cages
5. Back up cam
6. AM, FM, CD, DVD complete with 6 speakers that light up
7. Under carriage green neon lights on all 4 sides
8. Two custom boxes on the outside of the seats that hold 8 long necks on ice
9. Water cannon that shoots 30' fed from the melting ice from the beer coolers
10. Custom made alternator and a full size car battery
11. Dash dispenses Jack Daniels out one side and vodka out the other side
