Yes gators are not submarines but the placement of the air intake is really poorly designed.
If you suck in any amount of water you will have a very expensive repair bill, and the amount of dust the current air filter is exposed means you need to change it often.
Here was my solution use the Kubota high ROPS air filter kit Part #v4271 http://www.messicks.com/partdetail/V4271.aspx
For ~$200 you get a dual filter 5" air intake with all the bolts, tubes and minor mods you have a snorkel for your 825i
Pics are from the RTV setup, but the supplied tubing will follow the gator ROPS.
JD should make a similar kit available for Gators.
