Griffin Performance.net is reworking the stock primary clutches and is guaranteeing them not to stick. Clutch lowers RPMs by around 1100rpm on cruising speeds makes the 825 quieter. It's a bolt-on swap but you have to exchange your clutch with them. Well worth it to not have to worry about it sticking or hanging up again. We used a few on customers here and they love the quieter ride.

What about low end torque, pulling/pushing power and top speed? My feeble mind thinks that when you gain something there is a sacrifice of something else. Could you elaborate? Any post install specs?

They now have an available clutch kit and the reworked primary replacement. The clutch kit is a drop in for your stock clutch to lower the engagement... if your primary sticks out of warranty and have their kit they will take the price of the kit off of the primary exchange. Lifetime warranty on the kit. A good guy to deal with.

Low end torque isn't what it used to be if you compare flooring it. Towing it still tows fine and has plenty of power. You lose about 4mph on your top end. The ride you can actually hear yourself talk because of the lower rpm's.

Pville,

Do you know if they can rework the primary on the 855D? More interested in a clutch that doesn't stick.

You can also contact member MBDiagman. He "tunes" clutches and did my primary a couple months ago and it's never operated better.

Was reading somewhere that using a clutch from the 855D diesel XUV also does pretty good. Lowers clutch engagement RPM and increases speed. Supposed to be a direct fit replacement for the stock 825i clutch. Waiting for some other folks to go that route and see what results they are having.

The guys at Griffin opened a new site just for gator guys called Gator-Pro (http://www.gator-pro.com).... they will be doing performance mods for the 825i!!!!! Nitrous, forced induction, and more. I'm really excited about all of this. The 825 has potential and finally maybe we will get to see that.

How much boost will the stock internals handle? I'm thinking about going with a turbo turbo.
