4x2 gator

I have a new engine in my gator after going about 300 yards it looses speed backfires and stalls. Does anyone know what my problem is.

What engine did you put in your Gator? What have you tested so far? Will the engine idle indefinitely or does it eventually die? How much throttle are you driving with when it dies?

The engine is a GN410 JD Gator 4x2 Generac.the engine idle ok.It is running about 3/4 throttle when it stalls and backfires. No test as of yet.
