The brakes are squealing and groaning, and getting worse. The noise seems to increase if you drive the machine for a while. The brakes do work fine, but the noise is really irritating. Have changed the oil per manual, but made no difference. It now seems that the brakes don't always release immediately, after applying the hand brake. Backing up briefly does release the brakes. Becoming concerned they may lock up and strand me somewhere. The Gator has about 600 hours running time. In looking at the repair manual, there are numerous tests suggested, but many ask if the brake discs or clutches are worn, warped, etc. Well, they're inside the transmission, and you'd have to take apart to see anything. It's not clear from the exploded view, but it looks like there are two brake packs, one left, and one right. Is that correct? I also see that you have to remove the transmission to pull it apart, which is no easy task.
