I have a 2007 HPX and just turned 220 hours. JD recommends replacing the belt and inspecting the clutch. When I look at the belt it visibly seems fine? So how do you tell when you need to replace it? On the clutch it says to look for wear on the clutch buttons and has a really lame picture on what to look for. Hoping someone can tell me what the heck I'm supposed to be looking for.

I would guess the the belt wear/replacement factor is the same as with a snowmobile belt. Wear is on the edges of the belt and the minimum width is the thing to measure and watch for replacement. I am thinking that a technical service manual for a specific model/engine/clutch would have that minimum width specification. I am thinking I will have to buy the XUV 620i TSM in order to have info like that available or just ask the shop mechanic at your local dealer to look it up for you.

Here is what the manual says;

1. Park the vehicle safely.
2. Raise and secure cargo box.
3. HPX Trail Gator 4x4: Remove clutch enclosure.
4. Rotate and inspect belt for wear or damage.
5. Measure the top surface of the belt width
Dimension should be a minimum of 27 mm (1.1 in.).
6. Replace belt if worn beyond limit.
