I herd these were coming out but not this soon. I drove past the Case IH dealer up in Cazenovia NY this morning and saw this out front.

Some things I observed.
1. The dumping box was easy to pull up and it stayed up but did not seem to have a lock in place while it was up.

2. I opened the glove box but it was difficult to close. Like it was off alignment. After a good slap it did shut.

3. Like the hood idea but not how it locks. It seems to just snap in. It reminded me of the snap models I used to build when I was a kid. Love the space but if you have a oversided sleeping bag in it she just might pop open.

4. The key was not with the Scout but the hour meter was still lit.

5. The rear break lines hook right into a break post that is exposed. If you are a trail rider your bound to mash into them from time to time.

I really hope this does well for CaseIH. I am a big International and Farmall fan! :Chers:

While the Case-IH looks like a fairly cool toy. Your JD Gator looks to be much more substantial :Ysnd:

Not a bad looking machine though I don't think it looks as sturdy as the 825i. Front mount winch appears quite exposed and a bit lower. 4 lug wheels might mean the system is not as stron as the 825i. I like the dash of the 825i much better then this machine. What is the HP and speed on this one?

Yeah Deputy, I agree on it not looking as sturdy....to be honest, and realizing that the Gator 825i is sort of in a class all to itself, I haven't seen any others as beefy as these Gators...nothing looks cheaply built or added to them...everything has it's purpose, either being weight saving or constructed heavily...I wouldn't trade my 825i for anything out there at the moment...

It looked like a Briggs Vanguard twin in there so I doubt if it has much more than a little better than half the horsepower that the Gator has...I could be mistaken on that though.....they should sell well with the Farmers that bleed red instead of green....it should be a nice little utility vehicle for that kind of thing, meaning they probably aren't made for farm AND off-road/trails/dunes/mountains like the green machine is...

Can you tell I love my Gator???....

I think I will stick with the gator. The IH looks like something more for picking up yard clippings and for the kids to ride on. No offense intended to those who bleed IH red

Biggest thing that stuck out to me was the plywood seat pan. That seat cover will be off in no time.

I am NOT a great welder to say the least, but then again I am not a manufacturing company either....those welds should have been cleaned up most certainly...they always said that you could tell a good weld job by whether or not it looked like a stack of nickels laid down in a row...those welds look like they have a few peniies, a peso, and maybe a few carnival tokens mixed in with the nickels!!!...I'm sure they are probably strong enough with plenty of penetration, but asthetics mean alot when you are trying to sell a $10,000 plus item...I'm kinda surpised to see that...

The cvt exhaust is pretty low, other than that looks like a cool toy for the farm.

Larry, I agree with all your saying! If I were going to dish out 10K, just the welds would cause me to walk away. Like you I am not a welder but I am a stickler for asthetics! I do have a welder that I only do work for myself, like repairs in the fields when equipment breaks down. Even at that I wire brush everything when I am done and even touch it up using a spray bomb. Over all I feel the machine does not present a 10K image. Just my 2 cents. Think I will keep the 825i.

We have been painting up a storm here in Maine, doing all the trim, windows, barn doors, garage doors, road side stand, entry doors and so on. The Gator has been a life saver, loaded with all the supplies I go from one spot to another and everything is at hand. Thank you John Deere!

Couple things I noticed or disliked.

Metal bed on back will certainly rust out like the old gators did.
Bed looks a bit small.
Drivers side leg/foot area seems to have some sort of big thing in the way.
Plywood seat support.
Roll cage looks like an afterthought.
Rear A-arms look a little light weight.
They really cheaped out on the instrument panel.
Glovebox looks like there is no drain.
Seat looks to have a crapper built in the middle.
It has a big rattle box built into the hood.
Air cooled low HP motor.

As much as I hate to say it the Kioti looks better.

I agree. Pretty pricey as well.
